WWE Judgment Day - 21st May 2006John Bradshaw Layfield is in the back and he looks very jovial tonight. He said tonight is Judgment Day for Rey Mysterio. Tonight the feel good story of 2006 comes to an end. Rey took on all comers, but now he faces a different level. He said this is JBL’s world and JBL’s time. He said this is what he thrives on. JBL said today the true American Hero, and the United States Champion…JBL screamed at someone and it’s Chavo Guerrero. Chavo said he’s here to support Rey Mysterio. JBL said that Chavo is here to watch Rey Mysterio get his ass kicked for the World Heavyweight Title just like he watched his uncle, Eddie Guerrero, get beat by him for the WWE Title. Chavo said JBL needs to stop living in the past, and tonight, JBL will not leave here with the World Title. Chavo said “Viva La Raza” and left.
The Aftermath of Rey Vs JBL

Shelton Benjamin beat Chavo Guerrero in a MITB2 Qualifyier when Randy Orton RKO'd Chavo!
24th February 2006 - Smackdown!
The show opened with the new #1 contender to the World Heavyweight title (at Wrestlemania),
Randy Orton, making his way down to the ring. Orton wasted little time in saying “I told you so,” and said that
neither Rey Mysterio nor Eddie Guerrero’s spirit could stop destiny…Randy Orton’s destiny. He then turned his
attention toward his Wrestlemania opponent, Kurt Angle, calling him lucky to have beaten the Undertaker at No
Way Out. The Legend Killer insisted that Kurt’s luck would run out at Mania, and that he’d take Angle’s spot atop the business…
a business that his father and the rest of his family built. He called the Ortons the greatest wrestling family of any
and all generations and said that he, himself, would be the greatest of this generation.
At that point, Chavo Guerrero came in through the crowd and attacked Orton, hitting him with the Three Amigo rolling vertical suplexes and following up with a
Frog Splash to the delight of the crowd. Security pulled Guerrero away as the segment closed with Chavo shouting at Orton that the
Guerreros were the best wrestling family ever.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Chavo Guerrero
Shelton Benjamin made his way to the ring with his momma as the Intercontinental Champion, and he’s set for this Money in the
Bank Qualifying Match against Chavo Guerrero!
The two locked up and Shelton hit some right hands but Chavo came back with some uppercuts and then Shelton elevated Chavo high in the air and he crashed down to the canvas. Shelton hit some mounted right hands and then choked Chavo over the top rope. Shelton nailed a snapmare and then locked in a rear naked choke as momma looked on with a smile. Chavo came back with a dropkick and then some right hands and then a flying forearm.
Chavo nailed a standing dropkick and then Shelton went for the T-Bone but Chavo blocked. Shelton missed the Stinger Splash and Chavo hit the tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Chavo nailed the Three Amigo’s but Shelton blocked the third and tossed Chavo to the outside. Momma stands up and tells Shelton to get out here and finish him. Momma distracted the referee and Shelton went for a suplex but Chavo reversed into a DDT! Randy Orton then hit the ring and levelled Chavo with an RKO! Shelton covers for the win!

Heat! 4th December 2005
Rob Conway vs Chavo Guerrero
The start: Rob Conway makes his way out first, singing along to his music. Chavo makes his way out and gets perhaps a bigger reaction than a wrestler on Heat should. A loud Eddie chant at the start of a match, which Chavo applauds, before stealing Conway's sunglasses and taunting him. Both men lockup after to start off the match, and proceed to exchange a wristlock, before Chavo takes Conway over with an arm drag. Both men tie up again, and Conway grabs a hammerlock, before Chavo reverses it and takes him down to the mat and locking in a deathlock variation. Chavo lets the hold go, and picks Conway up, whipping him off the ropes and catching him with a shoulderblock. Chavo then goes for a side headlock, which Conway eventually reverses into a side headlock of his own.
The Finish: Chavo takes Conway down with some european uppercuts and covers for the two count. Chavo whips Conway off the ropes, but lowers his head and gets caught with a swinging neckbreaker. Conway covers and gets another two count. Conway picks Chavo up and whips him into the corner, only to get caught with a knee. Chavo hops up to the second rope and goes for a sunset flip, but Conway reverses and and gets a two count. Conway then runs at Chavo and gets caught with a dropkick. Chavo picks Conway up into the Gory Special, before turning into a Gory Bomb for the three count.
Winner - Chavo Guerrero

Eddie Guerrero Tribute
MATCH: Chavo Guerrero vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield (w/ Jillian Hall)
(CMV1 note- Chavo was himself in this match, and not that stupid Kerwin White character).
The match's first real highlight was when Chavo pulled a page out of Eddie's book and poked JBL in the eye.
He eventually hit a top rope missile dropkick for a near fall, but Layfield gained the advantage soon after when he caught
Guerrero's attempt at a flying crossbody and hit the Last Call Fallaway slam. JBL maintained the momentum with a swinging neckbreaker
and some rest holds, but hit attempt to finish things off with the Clothesline from Hell were met with a missile dropkick counter.
The next big highlight came when Chavo did Eddie's confidence building shimmy shake and connected with several big right hand shots.
Layfield looked to thwart Chavo's offense with another Fallaway slam, but ended up planted face-first on the mat when Guerrero
countered it into a swinging DDT. Chavo then did a great tribute to Eddie by heading outside and bringing a couple of chairs
into the ring. He threw the first chair toward the ref to get him out of the picture. Then, just as Eddie had done last week,
Chavo tossed the chair into Bradshaw's hands and dropped to the mat as if he'd been shot. The referee chastised JBL for the
alleged chair shot, and Layfield pleaded with him that it was a misunderstanding. As the ref put the chair back outside, Chavo
capitalized and caught JBL with a low blow. He then hit the Three Amigo rolling vertical suplexes and headed to the top rope.
The finish came when Chavo finished off his tribute to his Uncle Eddie by flying high with a Frog Splash for the pinfall victory.
Chavo defeated JBL.
Note- the crowd's overwhelmingly positive reaction to Chavo was just fantastic, and the fact that they alternated "Chavo" chants with "Eddie" chants
was just a special moment for wrestling. I'm glad they ditched the Kerwin White character, for it'd be nice to see Chavo wrestle as himself all the time as a tribute to Eddie).
